Olawale Moses
Adesiyan Olawale Moses is a contemporary visual artist based in Lagos, Nigeria. Born in 1994, he studied Fine and Applied Art at The Polytechnic, Ibadan, establishing a rigorous technical foundation in drawing, painting, and mixed media.
His artistic practice centers on charcoal, graphite, and oil paint, driven by an exploration of human expression, identity, memory, and the nuances of light. Rather than pursuing literal replication, his work distills complex visual details into striking portraits and multi-figure compositions, occasionally integrating digital glitch elements to examine contemporary existence.
Olawale’s work has been featured in prominent exhibitions, including the Spirit and Souls group exhibition at Voltz Clarke Gallery in New York (2022), as well as significant local showcases at Alexis Galleries in Lagos such as True (2023) and Mirrors of Our Time (2024). Operating from his studio in Lagos, he continues to expand his practice through international exhibitions, portraiture commissions, and dynamic print collections.
